Mama’s Berry Delicious Pie Recipe



- 1-1/3 cups sugar

- 1/4 cup quick-cooking tapioca

- 1/4 teaspoon salt

- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

- 4 cups of your favorite berries (I use fresh raspberries, blueberries and blackberries)

- 2 in 1 bag of Mama Alana’s Gluten-Free Vegan Pie Mix, prepared and chilled

- 2 tablespoons melted butter (can use Vegan)



1. In a large bowl, mix together the sugar, tapioca, salt, and cinnamon. Add the berries and toss gently. Let the mixture stand for 20 minutes to allow flavors to meld.


2. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out half of the pie crust from the Mama Alana’s Gluten-Free Vegan Pie Mix and line a 9-inch pie plate with it, making sure to butter the pie plate beforehand. Trim the edges of the crust evenly with the edge of the pie plate. Pour the berry filling into the prepared crust.


3. Roll out the remaining pastry from the pie mix and either create a lattice crust or use heart-shaped cookie cutters to make a decorative top crust. Place the crust over the berry filling. Trim any excess dough and seal and flute the edges.


4. Brush the top crust with melted butter for a golden finish.


5. Bake the pie in the preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 30 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. If the edges start to brown too quickly, cover them with foil during the last 15 minutes of baking.


6. Once baked, remove the pie from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. This delicious Mama Alana’s Berry Pie is perfect for any occasion, especially Valentine’s Day for your loved one.
