Mama’s Salad Pizza!

Growing up, I had a special pizza tradition at a local restaurant. Their signature pie was loaded with bacon, but since I didn't eat meat, they kindly made it without for me. Eventually, gluten became a no-go, so I had to recreate those beloved flavors at home. Now, my family adores Mama’s Salad Pizza, a gluten-free twist on my childhood favorite. With a blend of cheeses, fresh veggies, and a dollop of mayo, it's a flavorful delight that satisfies everyone's cravings. Here's how to make it:

 

Ingredients:

- 1 bag of Mama Alana’s Pantry Gluten-Free Vegan Pizza Dough Mix

- 8 oz shredded mozzarella (or your favorite vegan cheese)

- 2-4 oz shredded Colby jack cheese (or vegan cheese alternative)

- 1/4 cup onion, sliced (optional)

- 6 oz vegan mayo or regular mayo

- 3/4-1 cup lettuce of your choice

- 1/4 cup sliced olives

- 1/4 cup diced tomatoes

- 1/4 cup banana peppers

- 1/2 green pepper, sliced

- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms

- Salt and pepper to taste

- Italian dressing (optional)

- Parmesan and seasonings (optional)

 

Instructions:

1. Prepare the pizza dough according to the instructions on Mama Alana’s Pantry Gluten-Free Vegan Pizza Dough Mix.

2. Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on the pizza dough mix.

3. Once the dough is ready, spread it out on a baking sheet.

4. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and Colby jack cheese (and optional sliced onion) onto the dough, leaving a small crust around the edges.

5. Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for approximately 15 minutes, checking after 10 minutes to ensure your desired level of crust and cheese doneness.

6. Once the pizza is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it cool for about 15 minutes.

7. Spread the mayo evenly over the cheese and onion mixture.

8. Layer the lettuce, olives, tomatoes, banana peppers, green peppers, and mushrooms on top of the mayo.

9. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

10. Slice the pizza and serve. For an extra burst of flavor, drizzle Italian dressing lightly on top before serving. Optionally, you can sprinkle Parmesan and seasonings on the crust prior to baking.
